Tips Distribution

This guide is for the Master Terminal — it covers logging a tip and splitting it across the crew on duty.

1. Logging a tip

From Admin → Tips, log either a charter fee with a tip percentage, or a cash amount received directly. SeaLog calculates the total pot either way.

2. Splitting the pot

Choose which crew share the distribution and in what proportion. SeaLog shows the per-share breakdown as you go, and checks the split adds up to 100% before it lets you confirm — no shares silently missing or a pot that doesn't balance.

3. Saving a default split

If most charters split the same way, save that as your default so you're not re-entering shares every time — you can still adjust it per distribution when the crew on duty changes.

4. Reversing a distribution

Every distribution is kept in a history, not fire-and-forget. If a share needs correcting after the fact, delete or reverse the entry straight from its history row.

A tip distribution is separate from Payroll — it doesn't write into a crew member's wage run automatically, so check both if you need a combined figure.
